The Marina Real Estate neighborhood for San Francisco real estate has some fascinating history. The Marina Real Estate neighborhood sits on the land that was used for the 1915 Panama-Pacific International Exposition which was a tribute for celebrating the city in its emergence from the 1906 earthquake. While most of the buildings used for the Exposition were demolished to make way for the Marina neighborhood development, the Palace of Fine Arts still stands today. The Marina neighborhood borders on the East by Van Ness Avenue and Fort Mason, on the West by Cow Hollow, Lyon Street and the Presidio National Park, and on the South by the famous Lombard Street. Much of the Marina neighborhood was built on landfill.
